Facebook ignores the featured image for my posts

    I am having a problem with sharing posts from my website, to facebook. I have featured images set for my posts, but when I share a post to Facebook, it’s picking up other images from my website. I have recently downloaded the WP Facebook Open Graph Plugin, but that is of no use. Perhaps there is some coding that needs to be done, that I am not aware of.   • This is happening with us too – and it only started with the most recent WordPress update.

    Previously, when we’d update a page, or change the featured image, we could go to the FB OG debug page, and FB would refresh to the most current featured image:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    But now, FB is only picking up images from the body of the published page – not the featured image.

    What you have to do is log in to your wordpress, and go to the post that is causing you problems; hit edit. If you have WordPress SEO; then scroll down to that and hit social. Upload the image you want to use for Facebook. Go back to the facebook debugger and put in the url for the post. It should work now.
