I have two sites using feed them social to show Facebook posts. Both use the same theme, both are up to date.

One of them works fine (https://heathparkrangers.org.uk/latest-news/)

But on the southwalesquakers site (https://southwalesquakers.org/news-events/), no images are being displayed.

If I use the heathparkrangers facebook page id in the southwales quakers site, it does not show images. If I use the southwalesquakers facebook page id in the heathparkrangers site, it does show images. So it must be the site not the facebook page.

But as far as I can see, both sites have the same settings.

    Can you help?

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi @mcxg46,

A simple fix could be that after you update/publish, clear the FTS cache. Also, manually clear any caching plugins you may have installed.

It appears that your southwales quakers site is either 1) not configured with the same FTS settings as the other site (in Feed Them > Facebook Options, there is an option to hide images in posts, make sure that is set to “no”. Check the other options, as well as the shortcode options), or 2) that site may have another plugin or theme that is interfering.

Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating them, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.

If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.

    Best regards

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I tried clearing fts and other site caches, which didn’t help.

Hide images in posts is set to no.

Deactivating all plugins broke the site so that it wouldn’t load, but activating them again fixed the issue with the images.

So it must be a plugin issue of some sort. If it happens again I’ll try deactivating and activating them one a a time instead of on mass.

    Thanks again,

    John

    Hi @mcxg46,

Glad that your issue has been resolved. We are not currently experiencing any known issues with the FTS plugins. Obviously, issues can be a litany of things, but the most common issue we see, is conflict with another plugin. There are thousands of WP plugins, many of which update daily, which makes it impossible to test against, and makes it the most likely culprit when we have no current issues.
Other common issues include temporary glitches coming from the social media platform side, and can occur globally or locally, something that we have no control over, but thankfully are typically fixed within a few hours.

Again, happy to hear that your issue has been resolved.

    Have a great weekend!
