Facebook Likes Decreases when switched to https

Facebook likes are linked to URL, so a change from http to https will lose Facebook likes.

You can migrate the number of Facebook likes from http page to https page by enabling “Preserve FB likes” in plugin settings. But in order for Facebook to update the counts, Facebook has to re-crawl the page. This might take some time, sometimes even weeks or months.

To speed things up you will need to instruct the Facebook crawler to re-scrape your page for the changes to take effect. Go here and enter the URL of your page that you need to update and press “Debug” button. That will update likes immediately.

Thank you so much for that!Really appreciated. But as we were going to try the solution you gave. The share button and counters are not showing now. It is actually working on our live site https://www.peacefulparent.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/
but when we tried on our staging site https://peacefulparent.staging.wpengine.com/why-we-explode-and-how-to-prevent-it/ it doesn’t display at all even if we did the same settings on the live site. Do you know why is this happening? The short code is also not working there

Share icons are now showing.
But we still have a problem on Facebook likes, it is now 0! We tried to debug it with the use of the tool you gave but it doesn’t revert the facebook likes.
Here’s our test:
