Facebook link doesn't include my post title

    I’m so glad to have found such a streamlined and tidy plugin. Someone in the StudioPress forums recommended your plugin to me this morning. I was able to easily modify it to fit my website’s design.

    I do have a question, though. When I click the Facebook share icon, it only shows my website’s name and URL; it’s not showing the post title. When I coded my own icons, I ran into this same problem.

    Because I’m going to include scribble drawings in my posts now and then, but not all the time, folks aren’t likely to share my post if the post title isn’t going to show up when they share it on their timeline.

    Do you know how to get the post title to display? My website is here. Thank you!

    Okay, it’s me again. :o)

    I tested this by adding an image to a post and clicking the Facebook share button. The photo didn’t show up, but instead of showing my website’s name twice, it showed the URL, the post title, and an excerpt, which I really like.

    If it’s not going to show the photo, I wish it would still grab the title and excerpt. Is there any way to do this?

    I’m an essayist and don’t intend to upload many images to my posts. I can understand if Pinterest requires a photo, but a nice message explaining this would be helpful instead of an error message.

    With Facebook, it didn’t grab the photo, but because the photo was there, it made Facebook sharer happy and so it went ahead and grabbed the post title and excerpt.

    Hi ??

    I think the problem you’re having is that Facebook had cached that share URL with a 503 error response code (which I discovered using this tool).

    Since it was getting a 503, it wasn’t able to pick up the title and description data.

    I asked Facebook to re-fetch that information and now the title and description are being picked up properly. ??

    Your plugin will be widely shared by me. You’re so thorough and attentive. I was thrilled to see that Facebook grabbed the moose image way down in the footer and put it next to the post title and excerpt. It looks great!!

    Txnat – Naked Social Share doesn’t include the open graph data to make the title, description, and photo appear. That’s the job of an SEO plugin, like Yoast or The SEO Framework.

    I installed Yoast and SEO wizard and activated them but still no change to how post appears on social media.

    Apart from installing the plug in and clicking activate…How do I tell WP to pick up the blog title?

    You have to insert your post URL here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/ Then when the page refreshes you have to click the button to tell Facebook to scrape new data.
