Facebook new fbclid argument on all URLs is killing cache

Much-much needed fuction to ignore fbclid query string, and serve those requests from cache. Is there a solution for that? THANKS!

Just to be clear, the fbclid isn’t killing the cache, but instead bypassing it. Still not ideal and I would love the ability to serve up cached pages ignoring fbclid request parameter.

Clicking a link from Facebook, has the fbclid parameter

Takes an age for page to load, think it’s bypassing / killing the cache.

The URL is not cached from what I can see in my cached pages list in WP Super Cache settings.

Just serving an un-cached version of the page.

Found this link but you need to be alright about editing your .htaccess file yourself –

mod rewrite to strip any ?fbclid from the url.

As a bonus you’ll (probably) be protecting the privacy of your users (in a small way) if you also have a Facebook Like button on your site. ??
