Facebook no longer showing text or featured image

    Hi, (note I am not the designer of my site – I don’t know the version number. I have not made any changes to the site but I have noticed that facebook has recently stopped showing the text and ‘featured image’ from my web articles (blog post). I have searched in the forums but not seeing this topic. This is my first time to use this support forum. My site is dot org.

  • That’s because you have no Open Graph tags set up, which is where FB pulls that information from now.

    You will need to install and configure a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/ and probably have to configue a Facebook app, as well.

    FWIW, when I ran that page through the Facebook debugger app, I got these results:

    Warnings That Should Be Fixed

    Inferred Property
    The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    Missing Properties
    The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

    SSL Error
    Can’t validate SSL Certificate. Either it is self-signed (which will cause browser warnings) or it is invalid.

    Hi Kjodle, thank you for taking time to check it out. It has been resolved now. It seems my website didnt respond to an alteration on Facebooks side. The necessary software has now been updated. Have a good day and thank you once again.
