We changed the image in Social Meta (main settings) and a blog’s social meta settings to all point to one image which was different than we had previously used. When I went to Facebook to post a link to this page, FB still brought up the old image (a purple triangle). So I cleared all browsing history including cache and everything else from Firefox. Everything. Then I checked the source code for both the main website page and the blog I was posting. In both cases, the source correctly shows the OG image we want and that is the only image defined in the Social Meta settings at this time. So all is working well within our website and the SEO settings.

Still, after doing all this, Facebook is still pulling the purple triangle image and only that image.

What could be the problem here and how can I address it? Here is a link to the page we have been trying to post in FB but it will not show the Lia and Terry image in the link.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi Don,

Facebook sometimes caches things as well so you have to wait until Facebook clears their cache and recrawls that post. There’s nothing you can do to force this. I can tell you everything is working fine, if I share that URL on my Facebook page it shows the correct image.

    Hi,

Thanks for letting me know about FB cache. I was sort of thinking about that as a possibility. We have used the link with the triangle so extensively that I can see how it would be cached within our profiles.
