Facebook Not showing featured image and excerpt

This also started happening for us – wondering if there’s a conflict with WP 4.2.4. That’s the only change we implemented yesterday. Posts shared yesterday appeared as expected.

When you share a post on Facebook, or when Jetpack Publicize publishes a post to your Facebook page, Facebook crawls the page and looks for Open Graph meta tags in the head to build a complete post preview (with an image, title, description, …).

Jetpack automatically creates these Open Graph Meta tags for you unless you already use another Open Graph plugin, in which case we let the other plugin handle things.

Your site seems to be down at the moment, so I can’t check if your Open Graph Meta Tags are correct, but once your site is back up, I’d suggest that you check and make sure your Open Graph Meta tags are correct:

I think it was my connection to Jetpack, which has since resolved itself. Thanks for checking in. If I see the problem recur, I’ll start a new post.

My site up again, the problem is now i have to use fb debug tool before post to my fb page..

Our site, bkon.com, is seeing the same issue with it’s blog post share buttons for facebook. We found that using https instead of http in the share link fixed it, but we cannot implement that for your buttons. Is there a place we can change it to https? Is there something else we are missing?

@cadeng It would be interesting to find out why Facebook can’t grab the right information right away. What does the debugger display for each one of your posts, before you ask Facebook to scrape new information about it?

If it’s up on your end, this site performance issue might be what’s causing the whole problem. If I can’t access your site, Facebook’s bot won’t be able to access it either, and won’t be able to grab the necessary data to build a proper post preview.

I’d suggest concentrating your efforts towards improving your site’s performance to make sure it is accessible whenever Facebook tries to access it to get data about your posts. Caching might be a good start.

Have you tried entering the post URL in Facebook Debug, and asking Facebook to fetch the URL once again to get new information about the post?

I think it works fine now after i deleted the facebook connection and reconnect it again. Thank’s Jeremy.

Having problems with publicize. It works on Tweeter but the feature image is not showing. Doesn’t work on Facebook. I run the Object Debugger and it doesn’t give any error message. Can you please help?
