    Hi @iq1x,

Depending on the chosen region in the first step of the wizard, Complianz will implement an opt-in mechanic (EU/UK) or opt-out (US/Canada).

If you select the US or Canada as targeted region and paste your Facebook Pixel script in the script center, your website visitors will have the possibility to opt-out of the Facebook pixel and any other non-functional cookies or scripts. The opt-out button will be implemented in your Cookie Policy (or DNSMPI page).

You can also create an opt-out button yourself using our shortcode:
    [cmplz-revoke-link text="revoke cookie consent"]

You can edit the text to your liking.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Good luck!

    Regards,
    Leon

    Hi Leon,

    – if i choose Germany as location
    – additionally have the facebook pixel integrated with the official FB pixel plugin
    – controll the FB pixel with the opt in

does the short code you gave still work as opt out in case the user has previously choosen to opt in by allowing statistic and marketing cookies?

    Thanks
    Thomas

…. is there a chance to have an opt out link just for the facebook pixel?

    Hi @iq1x,

As you stated, Complianz will maintain an opt-in situation for the Facebook pixel if your site is configured for Germany.

If you want to manage consent for one specific script (in this case the Facebook pixel), there are two possible solutions:

    1. By default, Complianz will maintain three cookie categories for the cookie consent management (banner): functional, statistics and marketing. If the Facebook Pixel is the only script that is considered as marketing, you could change the text ‘marketing’ to ‘Facebook pixel’ or whatever suits you.

    2. If there are multiple services on your site that utilize marketing cookies or scripts, you could use Google Tag Manager in combination with Complianz custom events. You can then create extra categories, including a specific category for the FB pixel. Please refer to this article for a tutorial.

You could then use this shortcode to create a manage consent section
    [cmplz-manage-consent]

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi Leon,

I read a lot about the google tag manager and the setup of a opt out for the facebook pixel.
And for me, this sounds too complex.

If it is technically possible for you to offer this, I think this would give your plugin a big push.

    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hi @iq1x,

With Complianz, the opt-out for Facebook and Google Tag Manager shouldn’t be complex with the right instructions.

The above article will be rewritten this week and will feature opt-outs that might look like the one we have for Marketing cookies on https://complianz.io/legal/

I will let you know when it is up, you can contact us afterward to access our client demo and for a container (all you need is to import this to Tag Manager).

    regards Aert

    Hi Leon,

the first thing that would be great if I had a shortcode to provide users a link to opt out of single cookies / plugins.
Link the setting of a cookie to prevent google analytics to continue.

@iq1x We described how to do this above, using Tag Manager nad/or the shortcode [cmplz-manage-consent]

    The article: https://complianz.io/tag-manager-container-with-custom-trigger-events/

    Kind regards,
    Leon
