Hi we are using this plugin for Facebook pixel tracking. Looking at the conversion data within FB Ad manager it is reporting more conversions than we have had. Looking at the event breakdown, we have had 1 checkout initiated but 3 purchases? Which is not possible surely?

Please advise what the issue could be here.

    Many thanks

    Hi @joeyg101

Here’s a bunch of information that might help:

    – Maybe you have a second pixel installed that is also sending the purchase event. If so, you need to disable it.

    – Facebook doesn’t have a proper way on their side to deduplicate orders, even though we do send the order ID with each order.

    – Our plugin has methods to prevent order duplication in the free version and the pro version of the plugin. Read more about it here. And watch the following demonstration of the order duplication prevention feature in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qryrtzZ0l-Y

My guess is that in your case you’re using the free version of the plugin and the order confirmation URL was reloaded either after cookies were deleted or in a different browser.

If order duplication of approx. 3% doesn’t hurt you too much you can keep using the free version, otherwise switch to the pro version.

    Kind regards
    Aleksandar
