Facebook Publicise Pulling Incorrect Image

  • Hi all,

    This has just started for me over the last twelve hours. It was working perfectly, then just stopped. My last two posts to FB both pulled the same (incorrect) image.

    I’ve read a couple of threads on this and have used the Object Debugger. Everything looks fine there (as far as I can understand it)but still the wrong image was published on my last two posts.

    This has me puzzled as I’ve not added any new plugins or changed anything about my site…. Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi Brandon,

    Sorry I forgot to post my URL. Here’s the link to my site, and the two posts in question are here and here.

    For some reason, Facebook has started to pull the image from this page and pop it on all my FB Publicise posts.

    I couldn’t duplicate the issue when sharing the post ( https://cloudup.com/cPDff2KM3ox ), so it does seem to be isolated to when the post was initially published.

    When publishing your post, are you scheduling it or “manually” publishing it? I’ve heard some reports that scheduling the post could cause some oddity (likely related to a scheduled post is published when someone visits the site closest to when it should have gone live, possibly slowing down the site enough to where Facebook requests the information before the post has completely published, but still investigating that to be sure).

    The next time this happens, can you leave the bad Facebook post up long enough for me to investigate that piece of it too?

    Hey,

    I just published a post this morning and it all worked just fine. The two posts that I previously mentioned were both scheduled posts, so I guess it might just be isolated to scheduled. This is a little weird in and of itself though, as scheduled posts used to work just fine for me.

    Anyhow, next time I schedule a post I’ll see what happens and will leave it for you to look at.
