I am using publicize to post to facebook but the posts always show up on facebook as “429 Too many requests” because my site is running under https but the link that publicize is posting is http instead of https. Is there a way to get publicize to share the correct link?

Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

Not sure how helpful the site URL will be but here it is: https://utahcharters.org/
I’m pretty sure that the issue is just that my site is https and publicize is posting http links (I tested the links with the facebook debugger and the http links that publicize posts give the 429 error whereas if I change the link to https in debugger the error is gone). Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I updated your Jetpack settings to use HTTPS instead of HTTP. That should fix your connection issues.

Hi Jeremy. Thanks for your response. I’m a little confused. Is there a place in jetpack settings where I can set it to use HTTPS instead of HTTP? Sorry if I’m missing something here. I’ve still gotten the 429 error since your last post but I’m assuming that’s because I need to change something on my end. Let me know. Thanks!

    Hello Jeremy,
I’m having the exact same issue as Ironleaf. I’ve tried to access JetPack to change my settings but I can’t seem to find that option in there. My WordPress account is already updated to the HTTPS but I still can’t get my posts to share to Facebook properly. I continually get the 429 Error Too Many Requests page when I enter a link. Please help me! ?? https://melissaonthemove.com/ Thank you.

If you continue to experience with new posts, could you try to reset your Publicize connection, as explained here:
    https://jetpack.me/support/publicize/facebook/#reconnecting-facebook

@melissaonthemove Could you follow the same steps?

    Hi Jeremy,
It’s still showing as the 429 error. I’ve followed the instructions to disconnect the app and the facebook and then reattach it but it’s still having an error. Is there something else I can do?

Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

Hi Jeremy. I sent that debugger contact form. Let me know if it’s helpful. Thank you!

    Hi Jeremy,
I’ve also submitted the requests. Hopefully we can get this worked out.

    Hi

I have been having the same problem for the past two weeks since I purchased an SSL certificate. Before that everything was fine. I have tried everything!! Every time I use the Facebook De-Bugger I get a different problem to fix. If its not my image its multiple URL messages. I have tried using WordPress HTTPS plug in but that broke all the links on my pages. I have tried using Open Graph plug in but that gave me more messages in the DeBugger. I have also tried deactivating all plug-ins, resetting social settings and reinstalling and debugging Jetpack. I am not great at CSS or anything too technical.
I am going crazy!!! Can somebody please help me???

@kristie30 Could you send us more info about your site by following the instructions I suggested above?

    Thanks!

I too have the same problem. This site in particular is GoDaddy WordPress hosting with SSL. I wonder if others have the same setup.

Jeff, my site is also on GoDaddy WordPress hosting with an SSL.
Jeremy, do you know if anyone has been able get the problem fixed?
