    I’m getting:

“If you can see this, then there is some form of problem showing you the Facebook publishing buttons. This may be caused by a plugin conflict or some form of bad javascript on this page. Try reloading or disabling other plugins to find the source of the problem.”

This appears in my pages/posts editor. I’ve tried turning off all plugins other that this one (except Gantry which would crash the site) and it still appears this way. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

You put the wrong URL in for your FB Application. Go edit the app and fix the URL.

Thanks Otto but there are several URL entries it asks for on the apps page and when I try entering my site’s URL it says it’s not valid. I did however enter the Fan Page URL into the plugin settings in WP (3.04).

Do you have a link to your instructions page so that I can review what I have done incorrectly?

There’s only one place to put your URL on the FB App page. It’s the “Web site” tab in the App editor. Just put your URL there.

    Your URL, BTW, is “https://www.scvsa.org/”.

Also, you don’t put the fan page URL in the plugin’s settings. You put the ID number of the fan page.

Awesome, that worked! Thank you and sorry for being a newb!

I was having the same issue and I looked all over because it seemed to happen from one day to the next. It was completely fine yesterday, I have not added any plugins and suddenly today it stopped working. I checked and double-checked everything. My App is set-up correctly. My plugins weren’t the cause. I finally had the idea to check different browsers and as it turns out, it’s a browser issue. I use several different computers (1 PC at work, 2 at home, pc and mac).

    The browser with the issue:
Chrome 9.0.597.102 for Mac (Macbook pro with intel)
Could it possibly be one of the extensions I have on it causing the issue?

    Works fine on:

    • Firefox for Mac ver 4.0b11
    • Chrome for PC 9.0.59.98
    • Safari Version 5.0.3

when I look at my error console on the browser that’s causing the conflict I see this:
Uncaught ReferenceError: FB is not defined – in post.php, line 631
which refers to this function in post.php: FB.ensureInit(function()
    and
Uncaught ReferenceError: FB_RequireFeatures is not defined – in post.php, line 927
which refers to this function in post.php: FB_RequireFeatures([“XFBML”]

I do see Featureloader.js.php in my page source.

so i guess for now the thing to do it use another browser, but i’m wondering if there’s a way I can figure out why Chrome is doing this

Are you blocking Facebook with something like an ad-blocker?

    no ad blocking at all.

Well, something else is wrong then. If you’re getting those javascript errors, then the Facebook javascript isn’t loading. I have no idea why.

no worries. thanks for responding though.

at least the issue it limited to the specific browser. It probably is an extension causing it. If I ever figure it out i’ll post what I find here

fyi, the same thing happens to me on YouTube with my Chrome browser. The share link to facebook doesn’t even show up. But works fine on my other browsers. So definitely not a plugin issue or WordPress issue. Still trying to figure it out.

ok i’m a stupid idiot, don’t know why I didn’t see this before.
I was not blocking ads per se, but I was using a Chrome extension (that I only installed on the one Chrome browser having the issue) called “Facebook Disconnect”
