facebook pulls wrong data

  • Hi guys,

    I need your help. I am quite desperate.
    facebook pulls wrong data from my site blog.guntmarwolff.com.
    If you share the page and not the post it shows everything correctly.
    If you want to share a post it pulls a wrong image.
    I looked at the source and it said https://fbexternal-a.akamaihd.net/s…..
    And now it gets confusing:
    If you share it vias teh blog site it shows you the wrong picture.
    The same wrong picture is shown on the facebook page whats new.
    In your personal timeline it gives the correct picture but without description of the post…..

    How can I override the image that is saved there or does it get actualized every few days…
    What can I do?

  • There are a few plugins out there that allow you to set the image that shows up when you share a link on facebook.
    I know WordPress SEO by yoast offers this feature. you can set it to individual posts or you can set a site wide default.

    I believe the official Facebook plugin does it as well. Jetpack by Automattic i think does it too, it comes with their sharing feature.

    I am new to Jetpack, but i can vouch for WP SEO by Yoast
