    Hello,

    I have been using AddThis plugin’s “Bottom Sharing Tool” on my website https://www.mockingnow.com

    Earlier when I clicked the “Share” button and selected “Facebook”, I would be shown the standard FB Popup window with the Article Title, Image and Article’s Description as an intro text which I could share on my timeline.
    I trust the intro text was picked from a meta tag called <meta property=”https://ogp.me/ns#description&#8221; content=”The first few lines of the article…”>

    But off late, the intro text is the same as the website’s meta description <meta property=”https://ogp.me/ns#description&#8221; content=”Mocking Now is … (the website’s tagline)…” >.

    So now I always get the same intro text whenever I share any new article.

    Is this due to a change in the Add This scripts?
    How can I get the “Article’s first few lines” as the intro text again for Facebook Share?

    Thanks,
    Harsha

    Hi Srijith,

    I am opening back this thread,
    Issue is when I add the new post, and try to share it on Fb, the thumbnail description appears is some HTML tags, Something like this.
    “You may use these HTML tags and attributes: <?a href=”” title=””> <?abbr title=””> <?acronym title=””> <?b> <?blockquote cite=””> <?cite> <?code> <?del datetime=””> <?em> <?i> <?q cite=””> <?strike> <?strong>”

    I am unable to figure out why this is happening on creating a new post. This was a new post which was created, kindly try to share this https://www.mockingnow.com/2012/11/test-for-share/.

    Thanks much,
    Harsha

    Hey Harsha,
    The link shared shows a “Page not found!”. Put a page where the issue exists. Let’s nail it down!

    @harsha: It’s still down. Can you please check and provide a page where it’s failing?

    Hi Srijit,

    There an other issue, let me explain you in brief.

    Well, I am using AddThis plugin to share the Article, Like etc and the “Facebook” plugin to enable only comment box, Now my query is when I “Like” any newly posted article, and click on the “Post on Facebook” it wont appear on my wall(Timeline), So I tried used this open Graph code.

    “<meta property=”og:title” content=”Mocking now” />
    <meta property=”og:type” content=”article” />
    <meta property=”og:url” content=”https://www.mockingnow.com/&#8221; />
    <meta property=”og:image” content=”” />
    <meta property=”og:site_name” content=”” />
    <meta property=”fb:admins” content=”1228092333″ />”

    Like worked, and it happen to appear on my wall as well,

    But,
    What happens when I use above mentioned code in header.php, is. When I share particular article
    Example: https://www.mockingnow.com/test-article
    I want the title of the article to be displayed, but it displays “Mocking now” which is fetching from the above mention meta tag code. If I remove the <meta property>, “Like” is not working. Can any one help me how to resolve this issue?

    Expected Behavior:: 1) When user click on “Like” button, Article needs to appear on the wall(Timeline) with the +1 count in the Like button
    2) When user share I want the title of the articles to be displayed

    Actual Behavior: 1)When I click on “Like” button of newly posted article, It wont appear on my wall(Time Line) only the count will increase. But if I use
    “<meta property=”og:title” content=”Mocking now” />
    <meta property=”og:type” content=”article” />
    <meta property=”og:url” content=”https://www.mockingnow.com/&#8221; />
    <meta property=”og:image” content=”” />
    <meta property=”og:site_name” content=”” />
    <meta property=”fb:admins” content=”1228092333″ />”

    Above mentioned meta property and share,
    2) The title of the article will appear as “Mocking now”

    But expected is “Title of the article” not the site name

    Can you please tell me what exactly is the issue I am facing?

    Thanks much,
    Harsha
