Hi –
The most common reason for this happening is that your computer/browser has hit the rate limit for requesting share counts from Facebook. Whenever the share counts load on your page, they are actually coming as a request from your own computer to Facebook’s API.
If you have multiple share buttons on your pages, and you very quickly go to many different pages on your site, you could possibly generate a few dozen Facebook API requests. Facebook would then stop responding to these requests until a little bit of time has passed.
However, other users would still see the share counts, because the Facebook rate limits are user-specific.
One way you can test this is if you stop seeing the share counts on your Desktop or Laptop computer, try visiting the page from your mobile phone and see if the share counts are appearing normally. If so, it’s probably because of the Facebook rate limit.
Does that seem like it could be causing the issues you’ve had, @ezramod and @nameless_dream ?
Thanks,
Greg
