• I cannot figure out which section is not allowing images to be posted when you share a link on facebook. Only when I disable both security and firewall does the image work. There is a blank square, and all page info is missing too.

How it is supposed to work: (facebook picks up images on the page, and you can scroll to the one you want)

I tried disabling 1 area at a time, and vice versa, and I got the same results. Also facebook cache’s your link, so you need to have multiple pages to try this out.

The only solution is disabling the both sections, but what area’s would be affecting this?

I cannot find anything on google..

    Hi,

I used the global disable settings…

    1) Disabled Firewall settings, results: no change
After no change, I reset everything by importing my original settings

    2) Disabled Security Settings, results: no change
After no change, I reset everything by importing my original settings

    3) Disabled Security & Firewall Settings, results: images were then being populated when sharing a link through a facebook status

This is actually affecting several of my sites

No images are showing when posting links to facebook. I have dug around and haven’t come up with an answer as to which exact setting is making this happen, the only solution seems the be what I mentioned above, but I cannot and will not leave it vulnerable.

    Any Guess??

Hi have you tried enabling all the basic security level. Then enable one by one the intermediate security level and at the same time carry out a test. The same applies to the Advanced security level.

    Regards

Do you have Prevent Image Hotlinking activated? If so disable it and use ByREV WP-PICShield plugin for that !

Prevent Hotlinking is not enabled. I think Facebook needs XMLRPC enabled in order for users to share pages.. Anyone have a workaround to this? Is wordpress still vulnerable to XMLRPC exploitation after the last security release?
