Hello: I need assistance with the FB verification process. I copied the code from FB and used Meta Tag Manager and Insert Headers & Footers to insert the code in the Header on my website.

When I checked the source code, it never appeared and the FB verification stated “The code we found in the Verification File did not match the expected value.

I’m not a tech guy so I’m not as knowledgeable about what all this could mean. What could be the problem?

    Best regards,

    Cireerah

The verification tag does exist in source. You may not have seen it due to browser caching. The verification error only tells us FB didn’t like the code that it found. It looks like the tag content is incorrect, it contains the entire meta tag string instead of just the verification code.

I think the content you supplied to tag manger is incorrect, it only should be the verification code itself and nothing else. In the separate name field what you have looks correct. N.B. – I’ve never used tag manager, I’m only guessing at what its UI might be like.
