Facebook WebView PayPal Issues

We have an ongoing issue with the PayPal payment option displaying the following error message to customers when attempting to pay via our Facebook shop web view rather than their regular browser:
Things don’t appear to be working at the moment
[Please try again.]We are receiving reports that this happens both before and after logging into PayPal, but we don’t have any concrete evidence of this, just user memory of events.
This is an intermittent issue as we have tested this and not experienced the same issue, although the exact conditions of each user is not known i.e. what device they’re using, software versions etc. We know that they are able to complete the transaction if they visit the site in a ‘proper’ browser and that customers have been able to pay by card where PayPal was not available.
The integration is done using the Facebook Woocommerce plugin by Facebook.
So far this issue has only been reported by IOS users. I have checked the logs, but nothing appears to be recorded for the instances that we know of, only transactions that receive a response.
I will update this case as I receive more insight.
