Faceted search showing duplicate tags

Running a recipe book and using this plugin to sort and show results when someone chooses multiple tags (gluten free, lunch, dairy free, etc).
The list is showing duplicate tags (lunch, for instance). Tag ‘lunch’ only exists once in the database, but this plugin shows it four times.
I have tried multiple solutions, including uninstalling and reinstalling plugin, excluding duplicated tags, etc.
