Hello everyone! I am the web developer for my local newspaper and we are needing to have a fade over the e-edition of our paper. We used to have this, but when we had to switch hosting platforms, we lost it. I am not the one who created the old website, so I am unsure of how to do it. I found this instruction guide: https://paidmembershipspro.com/premium-content-preview-blur-fade-text/, but it is still not showing an excerpt of the flipbook. I do have the “show excerpts to non-members” option enabled, and I am using PMPro version 3.1.3 (The latest version at the time of writing). Below I have attached two images. One shows what the website looks like for members, the other shows what non-members are currently seeing. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to the Paid Memberships Pro team.

The recipe shared in the link above only requires you to add some custom CSS (https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/premium-content-preview-blur-fade-text/#h-the-custom-css) to your site. This can be done by navigating to Appearance > Customizer > Custom CSS and adding it in there.

This would normally fade over an excerpt though – do you recall what was shown to non-members apart from the no access message?

    Kind Regards,

It was the viewer, but it was not able to be interacted with.

Could you add the reader to the excerpt dynamically at all? Was it a functioning reader or something that looked more like a screenshot?

This is custom and wouldn’t normally fall within our scope of support (because if the reader can somehow show in that excerpt them the fade away should work over it too) however I’m just throwing ideas out there for now.

There is no text. The reader is functioning but it could not be interacted with when a user did not have access to it.

Thank you for your feedback. If you can get the reader to show in the excerpt that would be a good starting point, however because this is so site-specific and getting the reader to show in the excerpt doesn’t relate directly to Paid Memberships Pro I would recommend posting a project on?https://jobs.wordpress.net?for some hands-on assistance with this. I realize that you are the new developer however this side of the issue falls outside our scope of support.
