Try unzipping locally then uploading the resulting directory to wp-content/themes on your server using FTP.

The unzip .gif file can be viewed locally without problem.

Upload the file including the directory to wp-content/themes using FillZila. Browsed it on WordPress Appearance/Themes;

I got it done. I suppose the previous file being corrupted.

Again I download a theme file from;
FabThemes
https://www.fabthemes.com/

Unzip it;

404.php       footer.php     header.php  js              search.php   style.css
archive.php   functions      images      page.php        sidebar.php
comments.php  functions.php  index.php   screenshot.png  single.php

upload the files including its directory to wp-content/themes/ and activate it. Done.

I have a further question.

Just found there are images upload automatically to wp-content/uploads/2019/2/. They are used by the theme upload.

I wonder how they came? They are not found on the extracted folder?

Can you shed me some light?

Some themes after activated are without picture as shown on their icon on Appearance-> Themes
with only Hello World!/Test displayed ??? Both upload and installed themes the same.

Examples:
Twenty Sixteen – Hello World! without picture
Twenty Seventeen – Test + picture
