    Hello!

I setting FTP backup, giving me an error I don′t know how to fix it.

    Alert:

Results of the FTP settings test: Fail: the identification was successful, but we could not create a file in the indicated directory.
    * PHP event: code E_WARNING: ftp_nb_fput(): Can’t open that file: No such file or directory (line 93, wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/ftp.class.php)

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi,

There appears to be a file permission issue, meaning UpdraftPlus or WordPress does not have the correct read or write permission to the folder.

The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle

I have this exact same issue atm using Updraftplus too. Have tried file full file paths, full permissions 7,7,7 for the folder and I am struck!!

    Any other tips?

I have the same issue. I don’t think bcrodua’s reponse solved the original post’s issue.

I have the problem on a virtual host, but not on a local web server.

Could this be because of php safe-mode?

I’m trying this now but also get “Can’t open that file: No such file or directory (line 93, wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/ftp.class.php)” though the destination folder has 777 permissions.
I presume the folder path should begin as displayed in FTP (FileZilla for me) – /home/mysite/www/…?

Also, I don’t use any of the Cloud options offered but do use others (e.g. hubiC). How can I stipulate a different server?

Several Support Qs are marked as “Resolved” but the solution isn’t published!?
