• I have two WordPress sites on my nginx server, one of the site is OK, another one is problematic. When I am trying to access wp-admin, the browser will give me a download, not login screen. Any idea what is wrong?

  • The question itself has little to do with WordPress. Your web server must provide the components needed by WordPress. In your case, something seems to be wrong in the web server configuration.

Can you also not call the frontend from the affected page? Then the PHP setting on the vhost in Nginx is not correct. Compare this with the vhost where it works.

Both vhost config files are exactly the same except for the directory and host name.

I remember that before the failure I close the browser when WordPress is loading the Oxygen builder editor.

It is strange that when I access /wp-admin/plugins.php, it is working how.

Take a look at the error log. Maybe is there something about it. If a plugin is guilty, remove its plugin directory so the page loads without it.
