• Hullo, thanks for this wonderful plugin!

I have implemented Jetpack SSO https://jetpack.com/support/sso/ on my site, and also taken the additional steps to bypass and disable the default login form. In spite of this, I see a number of

Failed to login with username “xxxx” (username does not exist)

entries in Simple History. Since it is no longer possible to log in with a username and password, I am curious how these login attempts are made. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks ??

Hi, glad to hear you like the plugin!

I don’t know why you still get those messages. I haven’t used Jeptpack SSO so I don’t know how that works.

Simple History however uses the authenticate hook (https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/hooks/authenticate/) to log those things and the docs say:

    > The authenticate filter hook is used to perform additional validation/authentication any time a user logs in to WordPress.

So.. it’s apparently being fired somehow.

You could try to click the date and time of the logged event to see more details about the logged event. Perhaps you can see something there that explains what’s going on.
