    Hi,

i’m facing this problem “Failed – Network error” in chrome if i click “resume” it’s good but users will not do this. The bug is also with safari. I tried to deactivate wprocket : no changes. I tried also to private navigation : no results.

So i change options to “redirect to file” but i would have prefered that the download start directly.

I can provide you access if necessary.

    Best regards thanks in advance.

I am also experiencing this issue.

    Hello,

@elito-1 I could not discover any documents/downloads that trigger the download process inside your page. Could you redirect me to a page that has them, or create a test page where I could go and test the download process?

@fmejia223 could you also provide a link to the website with some downloads so I can test them?

    Kind Regards!

    Hi,

yes, you can go here i put one text link and one button download block.

The document/download is in force download mode.

    Thank you for your help.

Could you please go to dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and click save without changing anything. After that, please go to dashboard > Downloads > Settings > Advanced > Miscellaneous and clear the transients and let me know if the download is working.

Also, could you please tell me the version of your installed Download Monitor plugin and if this problem appeared after the latest update?

    Kind Regards!

Wow very reactive support i appreciate !

I have done what you say but nothing change plugin is in ‘4.5.6 Version’

    Thanks for trying.

It might be an issue caused by a plugin or your theme.
I recommend installing this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.

Go to its troubleshoot mode and only activate Download Monitor and see if it works correctly with a default WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-One for example) and no other plugins.

Please let me know how it goes and what you find!

    Kind Regards!

I just try this (theme twenty-twenty and just download monitor activated) but nope … same result : Failed – Network error.

one info -> PHP is in 7.3

I can provide access if you want.

    Thanks for your help.

Could you send some screenshots with the plugin’s settings, namely:
    dashboard > Downloads > Settings > :
    – General
    – Advanced > Page setup
    – Advanced > Hashes

You can use something like https://imgur.com/ to place your screenshots. Sadly we currently can’t reproduce the behavior you are experiencing, so more info is better.

I am not sure if this helps – but the host company put a cache exception on the pages that have my download links. It appears to have solved my network error issue, but I will let you know if anything comes up.

Thank you @fmejia223 for the great info

Thanks @fmejia223 sadly i can’t change cache settings with the host company (OVH).
But the website will move from this hosting in the next months.

@raldea89 i put the screenshots on the web page : https://www.paysansdenature.fr/test-download-monitor/ tell me if it change something if not i will wait for the next host.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the info. No, the settings should not be a problem. Also, I tested with your exact same settings and one of your documents and everything worked.
Could you tell me if this happened after the latest update or was a problem for a longer time?

    Kind Regards!

Hi thank you for trying again,

i installed the plugin last week, before the update, so i can’t say it was a long time :-).

    Regards.

If you try and rollback to version 4.5.5 does it work? You can find the file here : https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/download-monitor.4.5.5.zip , just download, go to plugins > Add New > Upload and overwrite the 4.5.6 version, test it and let us know if this made any differences ( asking you this because I am confused and did not understand if the error came from the last update or not ).

    Kind Regards!

    Hi,

i test to replace with 4.5.5 but same result i also test with 4.5.7 : no change. So i will wait for new hosting service.

I hope this could help. Have a nice day.
