Failed retrieving OAuth2 access token

  • I added a Mendeley application at https://dev.mendeley.com/myapps.html

    I entered the applications Client ID and the API Client Secret into the fields in the WP Mendeley backend.

    When I click “Request and Authorize Access Token” I get a Login page (at https://api.mendeley.com/oauth/authorize?…..)

    After entering my credentials I am redirected back to the plugin settings and on top of the page I see this error message:

    Failed retrieving OAuth2 access token: {“message”:”Credentials are required to access this resource.”}

    I am sure that the credentials used are the same like the ones I used to create the application itself.

    What might be going wrong?

    So, I did not stop trying and I worked around this issue.

    (a) I generated a NEW Client Secret and entered that

    (b) I used Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 (64 Bit) to do the procedure

    That seemed to work.

    Strange.

    (before I was using Chrome)
