  • wow that is good to hear.

    Ok great and thank you

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with this problem. Looks like the Smush.it site is also running into the same problems/errors. Guess I’ll wait till it’s fixed.

Thanks for documenting this problem so thoroughly.

Do we know if this was ever resolved? Trying to “SmushIt” a load of images that I didn’t get compressed when originally writing the articles, but I keep getting an error:

Smush.it error: Failed to create a temp dir while processing https://www.***.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/calendar_mootools.jpg (/var/home/user/***.com/www/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/calendar_mootools.jpg)

Driving me up the wall, as I *know* these images could save quite a few kB from them, but it just won’t let me :/

    TIA

    Andy

I don’t know how you guys but in my case the database is full of trash.
All the “_wp_attachment_metadata” have for all other then full size images this:
    "Smush.it error: Failed to create a temp dir while processing <span class=\'code\'>https://domain.com/data/2006/11/2006-11-21-prednaska-kotik-360p-292x164.jpg</span> (<span class=\'code\'>/var/..../data/2006/11/2006-11-21-prednaska-kotik-360p-292x164.jpg</span>)\"

why do they write messages in to database? Can’t the just show the message on the screen?
The result is that WordPress do not see any other images then full size, because thumbs, medium and large consists the error message. So all the 1500 images on the web are all of sudden in full size only.

Any idea how can I clean the database..(not speaking of complex sql query that I’m not able to put together).

    thanks in advance
