I keep getting this alert message in my WordPress dashboard:

“Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!”

    I try to reauthenticate.
    1. I click “Re-authenticate with your Google account” on the General Settings tab.
    2. I click to Accept “View your Google Analytics data”
    3. I copy the “success code” from the page that follows.
    4. I paste in the General Settings tab in the “Paste your Google code here:” field.
    5. I click Save Changes.

I get a successful save message, but a few clicks later, the error message reappears.

    Anyone know of a fix?

  • To keep sending data to Google Analytics, can you use to ‘manual’ option to enter your UA-code?
This should prevent loss of data while we research the issue.

    I’m getting a similar alert:
“Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!”

I entered the UA code manually and checked the appropriate box. I don’t want to authenticate and use your dashboard. should I revert to the older version?
    Thanks!

Using the manual UA-code is the best option if you don’t want to authenticate/use the dashboards. That way you’ll still benefit from all other changes/improvements we do to the plugin.

Staying on an old(er) version should never is the best choice, in my opinion.

    thanks TacoVerde!
I’m using it with the manual code activated, but I can’t get rid off that message…

    I’ve changed to manual. Thanks.

    I’m afraid I have the same problem…
I get the nag to reauthenticate.
I authenticate Manually and it says “There where no changes to save, please try again.” (do note there’s a typo as well)

I have also removed the UA number, saved and Manually re-entered my UA number and re-saved… I still get the “Reauthenticate” message.

Add me too to the same issue….

Please also add me too, exactly the same issue, followed all above instructions and cannot get rid of “Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!”

Same issue here. Getting this error message: “Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!”

It happens even after I try to authenticate. It’s happened multiple times now.

Should I just uninstall the Yoast GA plugin and manually add the GA code to my site, like the old days? Seems a lot simpler than this.

I also have the same problem as the rest of my colleagues.

    I

There are additional issues with this plugin which is causing error statements related to the theme to appear on certain pages. I have disabled it in all of my WP installations and will be looking for some other GA plugin.

Same here. “Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!”

    Same issue here

Neither authentication method works. I had been using the manual UA code anyway as it happens. Same error message:

Failed to fetch the new data from Google Analytics. Please reauthenticate on the settings page!

Yup, I confirm. Switching to manual doesn’t get rid of the error message permanently. It eventually returns.

    Same problem here.
