I am now receiving the following error when regenerating Critical CSS (after going to advanced recommendations page):

    Custom post type
It looks like this URL doesn’t match:
    https://www.nerdynel.me/attribution/
    What to do
Visit the page and complete the following troubleshooting steps.
    1) Visit the page and look at the protocol and host name to ensure it matches the one in your WordPress Administration Screen.
    2) If not, then please reach out to your hosting provider and ask why.
    3) If you believe the issue is resolved, please try again.

The protocol is an exact match, so I don’t think this is the issue. This is also the first time I’ve encountered this error.

Furthermore, speed scores are failing to load due to timing out. I ran the Jetpack Debug tool and my site’s connection to Jetpack appears to be OK (the tool did not return any errors). Please investigate – thanks!

    Hi there,

The Jetpack connection to https://www.nerdynel.me/ looks good on our side too, so no problem there.

https://www.nerdynel.me/attribution/ is not loading for me; I get a Too many redirects error. Are you sure that URL is correct?

    Hi Emily:

Thanks for checking my site’s Jetpack connection.

The Attribution link loads just fine for me; I tried it on both my phone and my computer on different browsers and it worked on all.

    Hi @nerdynel17

Unfortunately, I am also unable to load the /attribution URL. You can see the message in this screenshot:

I tried using multiple browsers. As a next step, I’d recommend trying with all plugins disabled other than Jetpack and Jetpack Boost and then seeing if you can generate the Critical CSS. It seems that another plugin is likely interfering.

The Health Check plugin’s “Troubleshooting Mode” is a good way to test for this. It allows you to make changes to your site without them reflecting on the frontend. You can download that plugin here:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, you can go to Tools → Site Health:

    • Select the Troubleshooting tab and then click Enable Troubleshooting to automatically disable all plugins and add a new Troubleshooting Menu item in the toolbar at the top of the wp-admin dashboard.
    • From here, you can enable and disable plugins and change the theme for your site, but without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Within Health Check, please disable all plugins other than Jetpack and test again. If it works as expected, you know the issue is with one of your plugins. Please enable your plugins one at a time, testing after each one, until you encounter the issue again. Once you do, you will know which plugin is causing the issue. At that point, you can either leave it disabled or reach out to the developers for a fix.

Let us know what you find out.

    Hi:

I’ve had a very busy week, but I downloaded the Health Check plugin and began the troubleshooting as recommended. I have not yet nailed down the issue as, even with most* plugins off and the theme switched to default, the same failure regarding the attribution page recurs.

I have not completed the troubleshooting, however, so I will report again if I find the root cause, or if I’m unable to find the root cause.

*Due to my hosting plan, some plugins must remain enabled for the site to work properly, so I left these on during the troubleshooting. If I’m unable to narrow down a plugin conflict, I’ll take this issue up with them to see if anything on the host end might be driving the conflict.

Update: after continuing to troubleshoot, I have finally isolated the source of the issue. It was indeed a plugin conflict. One of the default plugins that came with my WordPress install – one that I hardly used – generated and continually updated the “Attribution” page whenever the site changed in any way. Since I really don’t need that plugin or this “Attribution” page, I deactivated and deleted the plugin, then reran Boost. No more errors – and Site Health now reports no issues!

Glad to hear you’ve sorted this out @nerdynel17, and thanks for sharing your findings so it benefits others!
