Hello, I’m trying to import a starter template but I got an error:

Your website is facing a temporary issue connecting to the template server.

For my local environment I use Valet for provisioning PHP, MySQL, Nginx on a Mac…

I have also tried to disable Valet and run Local (localwp.com), as someone from support give me this idea.

Both scenarios failed on fresh installations of WP. I never have this kind of issues on any WordPress site developed on my local environment.

I have also check if the MacOS firewall and it was disabled, so no firewall. issue…

I have also discovered that when trying to import, on the JS browser console, I have the following error:

    Requesting API admin-page.js?ver=2.3.8:3034
    Template API Response: admin-page.js?ver=2.3.8:351
    {success: false, data: "Sorry, you are not allowed to do that.”}

I think that for some reason your API is blocking my request. Maybe check what action is linked on your API to throw this message response.

    Thank you.

Update: the setup using Local can import starter templates without any issues, the issue is still with Valet (https://laravel.com/docs/8.x/valet).

I have also searched on Nginx and in php-fpm errors but I can’t find nothing related with this website…

Hi Suman, I have already updated the support ticket and I asume that this issue is related to my local machine environment and Laravel Valet.

I will be migrating to use Local for WP development as the starter templates import works as they should.

I think the issue of working with Laravel Valet is that the environment behind is your local machine and software installed. For my own mental health ?? I will be using virtual machines now and not my local machine env.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello @danidub

Yes, indeed that is one of our recommended tools for the WordPress testing environment.

Have a nice day ahead. ??
