• I’m trying to import an XML export into my install (specifically the media content) and I keep getting “Failed to Import” errors, but no other explaination.

I’ve tried activating DEBUG, but that doesn’t reveal anything.

How do I dig deeper into this to find out what’s happening?

    are you moving WordPress?

If so, here is a good resource: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/moving-wordpress/

Thanks for the resource — that’s helpful.

We are moving, but the bigger issue is a new theme we’re trying to install at the same time.

The theme’s built-in installation process dumps all of the existing site’s database content and installs its own. The developer told me to export my site’s content first, run the install, then reimport the existing site’s XML file.

I did that. The new theme installs fine, but when I try to reimport my existing site’s content, things start failing and I’m wondering why.

Which theme is it? Download from?

Oars from G5Theme. DL from Themeforest. I’ve been in touch with the developer, but so far no solution.

I’ve been in touch with the developer,

For commercial product support, contacting the author directly on their site is the best bet.

Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way. See https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products
