“Failed to load content css: https://beaconhillbenefice.org.uk/wp-admin/”
I suddenly now get this message whenever I go to any post or page. It has a pink colour and can be closed. What does it mean?
It only happened since updating your theme.

Hi @kevjon
This message is an error message issued by TinyMCE Post Editor.
In my environment, using the Raindrops theme seems not to have this problem yet.
With WordPress 4.8 update, there seem to be some people with the same problems as you.

Thank you.

Hi all,
I confirm that the message appears on all my sites (running WP4.8 + latest version of Raindrops template). It only occurs in the editor. Is it merely a WP problem or a combination of WP and a template?
regards, John
Hi john_graver
Please check the link below for this issue.
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-4-8-master-list/#post-9221234
This problem is said to be caused by loading non-normal CSS in the theme or plug-in, but in my environment, this error has not been displayed yet.
Thank you.
Hi Nobita,
In the discussion you link to is stated
This is not a bug in WordPress 4.8, but rather a warning introduced to help you get the best possible editor experience, but unfortunately it is up to the theme and plugin developers to implement the features correctly.
If the problem is not in the template then how can we get rid of it? Ot seems to be neither in my plugins…
Hi.
A client of mine reports the same error – when editing any post the error “Failed to load content css: https://(domain).com/wp-admin/” appears. I read the https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/read-this-first-wordpress-4-8-master-list article and I haven’t identified the source of the error so far.
Any suggestions which CSS file is causing the problem? The site is running WP 4.8, error started since update. Site has 0 plugins so certainly a theme issue.
Thx, Will
I am editing Raindrops and improving code everyday
However, no error was displayed on the post edit screen.

In these files, have you loaded Google font with @ import rule?
There is a method to stop reading these files, so please try once
Customize / Advanced /
Synchronize Style for Visual Editor Set to No
Save Publish
Does this work normally?
Thank you.
Hi Nobita,
Thanks for your suggestion. I will check the files later, when I have the access to the physical site structure (normally I use only web administration). Anyway, I am still currious, why this error really occured (while it was not here before)…
Ad Synchronize Style for Visual Editor:
-With Synchronize Style for Visual Editor = Yes I get the following:Failed to load content css: https://gravers.net/wp-admin/
-With Synchronize Style for Visual Editor = No I get the following:
Failed to load content css: https://gravers.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=raindrops_editor_styles
So this is no cure, only the message differs. Valid for both my sites with most recent WP and Raindrops.
…and well, there is nothing like @import… in admin-ajax.css

Thank you for test.
With Synchronize Style for Visual Editor = No I get the following:
In this case, there is a possibility of a theme problem that an error occurs.
I will review it with the next update. If possible, try the same test after the next update.
Hi Nobita,
So I have checked the files you listed and there is no @import rule. It occurs in fonts.css but only as an example (commented out).

Hi Nobita,
After upgrade to 1.482 with value No the message appears no longer – thanks.
With value Yes there is still the same message. Not actually a big problem – the advantage was, that I could see the text formatted according to the color customizing of my template.br/
JohnHi @john_graver
Now, I was able to check the javascript error on the posting screen.
If possible, please let me know the error message.
Thank you.
Hi Nobita,
After update to version 1.485 with Synchronize Style for Visual Editor = Yes the message is still “Failed to load content css: https://gravers.net/wp-admin/”
br/
JohnHi @john_graver
Raindrops theme 1.486 containing a fix for visual editor errors got live.
Please let me know if the error persists
Thank you
Hi Nobita,
Even with the new version the error message is still the same (tested on 2 sites). Shall I provide more info?
