    smtp:none:plain://relay.plus.net:25

Did your provider really tell you to use no encryption an no authentication to relay.plus.net on port 25? What are the results of Postman’s Connectivity Test to this server? With twelve failed email attempts these settings are obviously incorrect.

It’s best to use the wizard when you don’t know to configure email.

Sorry, I did use the wizard but that didn’t work and so I tried configuring it as my email is configured (obviously missed the authentication bit).

    I have used the wizard again. It sends the test ok but not the email. The connectivity test comes up with the message for the 2 ports (25 and 587);

Warning: connected to null instead of plus.net.

Hope this explains what you need to know

You re-ran the wizard? Please post your updated diagnostic data.

    Of course.

You’re still on port 25. Didn’t the connectivity test show 587 as an option? Please post the results of the connectivity test.

    (@suecarroll)

OK, wizard re-run with port 587.

Connectivity Test – Is this what you need?

    Port Port 25 Port 443* Port 465 Port 587
Outbound to Internet Open Open Open Open
Service Available SMTP ?? HTTPS No SMTP
    ID – googleapis.com – –
    STARTTLS No – – No
Auth None No – – No
    Login Yes – – Yes
    Plain Yes – – Yes
    CRAM-MD5 No – – No
    OAuth 2.0 No – – No
    * Port 443 tests against googleapis.com, not the SMTP hostname you enter.
    Summary:

? ?? Port 443 can be used to send Gmail with the Gmail API.
? Port 587 can be used for SMTP to relay.plus.net. Warning: connected to null instead of plus.net.
? Port 25 can be used for SMTP to relay.plus.net. Warning: connected to null instead of plus.net.
? Port 465 is open, but not to relay.plus.net.

    And diagnostic test again

Sue, in Tools > Email Log you will see a list of the emails you tried to send that did not go through. What is the error message displayed?

    Thread Starter suecarroll

    (@suecarroll)

    The message is

No recipient forward path has been supplied

(apart from ‘sent’ for the test emails)

    Plugin Author Jason Hendriks

    (@jasonhendriks)

And which plugin is generating this error? Is it a contact form?

    Thread Starter suecarroll

    (@suecarroll)

    It’s Contact Form 7

    Plugin Author Jason Hendriks

    (@jasonhendriks)

Please double-check the to address in your Contact Form 7 setup and make sure there are no extra spaces either at the front of the field or the end of the field.

I have now solved my problem which was a problem at my end and not your plugin.

Thank you for your kind patience and for this wonderful plugin
