Failed to write file to disk.

    We are receiving this “Failed to write file to disk.” error when trying to upload to the Media Library. Our host is GoDaddy. I’ve spoken to their support and they could not figure it out.

    We’ve tried many things, some include: checking folder permissions, disabling all plugins and themes, and they said the tmp folder was fine (although I still suspect this).

    I’ve also tried disabling fastcgi via .htaccess but all that did was just seem to break the site more, it ends up showing the wordpress source code when I visit it so I reverted this change.

    Any help or ideas would be great. One thing I haven’t tried yet is replacing the WP core files.

    I was also receiving this error when updating a plugin:
    An error occurred while updating Akismet: Download failed. Failed to write request to temporary file.

    I fixed this temporarily by adding define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’, ABSPATH . ‘wp-content/’); in wp-config.php

    Not sure if this also has anything to do with my original post.
