    Hi,
Firstly, thank you for a fantastic plugin.

I’ve been using Updraft on and off for over 5yrs, and generally haven’t had issues backing up my site. In the past few days though, I noticed that my backups to Dropbox are stalling where I get the following error:

Warning: Your website is visited infrequently and UpdraftPlus is not getting the resources it hoped for; please read this page: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/why-am-i-getting-warnings-about-my-site-not-having-enough-visitors/

As I’ve previously as recently as May 5th, had no issue backing up manually (not according to a scheduled backup), I’m not sure why suddenly I’d get the warning above as my site traffic should still be about the same as it was May 5th. I should note that my Dropbox account (where I’m trying to upload my backup to) requires 2FA using the Google Authenticator app, although this doesn’t seem to have been an issue previously…

    Hi,

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
Please use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi Bryle,
    Tks for the quick response.

I’ve gone through the latest log file emailed to me, and it appears that sure enough, the issue is that authentication to my Dropbox account wasn’t successful.

Here’s the link to the Dropbox log file:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/9g815ad6122erqy/log.faae63ab4e84.txt?dl=0

You can do a search for the following:

0292.869 (0) Dropbox: chunked upload exception (Dropbox_CurlException): Failed to connect to content.dropboxapi.com port 443: Connection timed out (line: 171,

What workaround would you suggest to authenticate to my Dropbox account, if I typically rely on a 2FA login (facilitated by Google Authenticator)?

    Cheers,
    Darren

I’m getting an almost identical issue, however, I don’t login using 2FA. It appears a few others on the support forum have the same error message appear.

0889.038 (3) Dropbox: chunked upload exception (Dropbox_CurlException): Failed to connect to content.dropboxapi.com port 443: Connection timed out (line: 171

    Log file: https://pastebin.com/Sz71AVDx

I’ve reached out to both my host and Dropbox direct and they advise there is nothing wrong on their side.

    Hi Both,

This message suggests that there is an issue with Curl requests from your server to Dropbox servers.

This could be a temporary problem at Dropbox, in which case could you try again.

If the error persists then can you contact your hosts and Dropbox to see if they can see any issues with the connection.

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley

    Everything works again now!

Looks like it was just a temporary issue as suggested by Ashley.

    Thanks again!
