Failing to generate critical CSS

Hi there,

The error you are having can sometimes happen with both Jetpack Boost and All in One SEO plugins are installed.

Jetpack Boost requires a few GET parameters (specifically?jb-generate-critical-css?and?jb-deactivate-modules?as a part of its Critical CSS generation process. These are sometimes blocked by the All in One SEO plugin.

You can resolve this conflict by adding?/^jb-.*/?in a new line in the?Allowed Query Args?box further down the AIO SEO Advanced settings page and save changes

After adding the query arguments try regenerating the Critical CSS again and let us know how that goes.

I’ve looked at all in one seo advanced settings and I can’t see allowQueryArgs where is it?

Can you please try:

• Go to WP-Admin → “All in One SEO” -> “Search Appearance”, and then click the “Advanced” tab on that page.
• Scroll down to find the “Crawl Cleanup” section → “Remove?Query?Args” toggle.
  • It should either be turned off i.e. set to No.
  • If it must be enabled (i.e. set to Yes), the “Allowed Query Args” box should contain the following text in the new line: /^jb-.*/ This will tell the All in One SEO plugin to allow all of Jetpack Boost’s special GET parameters, as they all start with jb-.
• Scroll down to the very bottom (or the top) and click “Save Changes” button.

Hopefully that will work! If your settings don’t look like this then you might need to reach out to AIO’s support and find out where to look. Thank you!
