• I am failing to move the Exford theme from my WordPress.com account to the .org platform. (It says the parent theme is missing). The website was fully designed on the WordPress.com platform and I managed to move the website content via cPanel to the domain host. But to have everything complete I need the theme as well.

I do not understand IT and I am simply panicking. Please help

I quick googling shows Exford is a child theme, so yeah, you’ll need the parent theme as well to run it. The parent theme is Varia.

The parent theme was always running behind the scenes. Because WordPress.com is a done-for-you environment, you never had to deal with this.

But now that you’re moving to a DIY self-hosted WordPress, you now need to install both the Parent theme and Child themes yourself.

Here’s the direct link to download the parent theme (Varia) from WordPress.com: https://public-api.wordpress.com/rest/v1/themes/download/varia.zip

    Good luck!
