Failing to upload
-
I tried contacting you through your website. Submitted through contact us since I couldn’t figure out how to open a ticket (no link to create an account?). There was no follow up email, so no idea if it was actually submitted.
Luckily I copied the message I submitted:
I’m trying to use the free version of your plugin to migrate a website to a new host. Ferdy’s review said this is possible.
I was able to create the backup to my local drive. It is split into 3 pieces with a 4th showing, but 0k and no download button, so I assume it is not real.
When I try to upload, it stops at some point. I’m not sure if this is a server timing issue or what.
I then get the error that the archive is not correct. maybe because not everything was loaded?
I then migrated the database only since it is smaller. No problem. So, the plugin works on both ends.
I then read the documentation and it said where the files end up, so I used file manager to put the 3 pieces of the backup into public_html/blog/wp-content/wpvividbackups. When I go back into dashboard and the plugin, I don’t see the backup.
I have also tried the auto-migrate and get the error: Transfer failed, Site migration failed. The receiving site can’t receive the oversized data chunk. Please set the value of Chunk size to 512 KB in plugin settings. Then try again.
I go to the new site and the chunck size was already set to 2000. But I reset it to 512 as asked, and got the same error when I tried auto-migrating again.
Any advice?
This is moving FROM Siteground TO Godaddy.
