  • Here is a suggestion for the next version of WordPress.

For Plugins, have the developers create a Hashcode that identifies the Plugin. Only updates to that plugin that use the same Hashcode will be recognized and allowed to update the plugin. This should prevent similarly named plugins from conflicting with each other. That is unless they are purposefully trying to hack another plugin.

    Just my two cents.

As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

Hi Esmi, it is the same issue as the developer posted last month.

The update for the NewsletterPro plugin that appears through WordPress updates is still present and causing user issues. I just accidentally ran that update automatically and it is the exact same problem the developer describes on his plugin site.

I will write the suggestion part into another thread. Thanks!
