• I have a site that is getting hundreds of fake campaign registrants. They all use the same email pattern – a name followed by a year in the 1900’s. Is there a way to prevent these signups in Charitable or is there another plugin I should use?

    Hi @jayrenn,

Charitable has basic spam prevention in place with a honeypot field, but we don’t really have a more advanced approach available. We’re planning to integrate support for some kind of captcha in the future, but obviously that won’t help you right now.

Just to be clear though, do you mean you’re getting spam registrations through the Registration form (i.e. [charitable_register]) or spam donations through the donation form?

Could you also include a link to your site?

    Cheers,
    Eric

I seem to be getting it through the campaign registration form ([charitable_register]) because their roles are all Campaign Creator.

    The site is https://vibravision.org

    Hi @jayrenn,

Thanks for the link. Right now I’m afraid there isn’t any easy way to prevent this with Charitable; the basic spam prevention we have in place has cut down on most of the spamming that we were aware of, but obviously in your case the spammers have become creative.

Unfortunately, there is no immediate, out of the box solution, but we do plan to add support for Invisible reCAPTCHA in the future, which should help with this.

The issue for that on Github is here:

    Cheers,
    Eric
