fake user registrations

  • I have gotten 49 or more fake registrations. I put a captca on my contact page but it still keeps happening. What is going on with wordpress? I have looked everywhere and cannot see how they are subscribing.
    and all the forum posts show closed. for me it’s not a closed issue. I’m hearing others complain about it too. This has not happened for 3 plus years and in the last few months, it’s ridiculous.

    Sorry to hear you’re having problems with security. If you’re getting a bunch of fake registrations, I would re-assess security of the admins who have access to the account, as well. Try resetting passwords and limiting access to all admins (if you have more than one moderator/admin) to the WordPress account and then see if it continues.

    Also, there are a large number of plugins that may help to stop spam registration. Check out this one:
