Fallback Roles Feature Request

    Perhaps this isn’t the best forum for this, but I’m looking to make a feature request. Is there any way to get a paid role to fallback to a free role upon expiration?

    For example, I have two roles: free and paid. I use the free subscription to gather emails for MailChimp. Meanwhile, the paid subscription is used to unlock extra articles. If a user chooses to stop paying their subscription, I’d like for them to automatically drop into the free tier rather than have an expired account.

    Currently, this isn’t a problem for me as I don’t have any paid subscribers. But, I don’t want to have this turn into a maintenance issue in the future.

    Also, is there any way I can help with this project to make this feature happen?

    Thank you! In other words, I would need to create some page that’s open only to paid subscribers with a “downgrade to free” button. That’ll work for my expired users.

    In terms of active subscribers, what happens if they hit the button? Will it cancel their PayPal subscription?

    The plugin will make the necessary changes if a member who has paid for a subscriptions changes to a free account. However please check those who decide to change from a paid to a free membership account. Make sure the plugin has made the correct adjustments. Report back if this does not occur.
