First I need to thank you for an awesome plugin which I have been using for more than 5 years now. I never had any issues until now. This morning I woke up to a notice in my dashboard

Because of a change in your permalink structure, some of your SEO data needs to be reprocessed.

We estimate this could take a long time, due to the size of your site. As an alternative to waiting, you could:

Wait for a week or so, until Yoast SEO automatically processes most of your content in the background. Remind me in a week.
Run the indexation process on your server using WP CLI

I know I didn’t recently change my permalink structure. I haven’t changed it5 years. The only thing I have done is run Yoast’s optimisation during the weekend although I distinctly remember being asked to do this a few months back. The run optimisation button is also back and doing it via WP CLI. What’s going on here? Do I have to run the index again?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @garikaib

We did include some enhancements in v15.1 of Yoast SEO for WordPress so perhaps there was something that the plugin identified that there was a change in the permalinks that needed an update in the indexables:

    • Flushes all permalinks from the indexables tables when the value of the permalink_structure option changes, and introduces a notification to ask for a reindex in that case.
    • Flushes all permalinks from the indexables tables when the value of the home_url option changes, and introduces a notification to ask for a reindex in that case.
    • Registers a cron job that checks whether the home_url was changed manually and resets the permalinks accordingly.
    • You can review the changelog here — https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-seo/#developers

If you go to your WP admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar) > Tools, are you able to see the ‘start SEO data optimization’ button again? You can decide to redo the indexables or decide to let it lazy-load in the background. Either option would be fine and shouldn’t cause any issue on your site.

We’re also seeing the same thing on multiple sites (no change to permalinks). If we hide the notification it just comes back again later.

    Hi @smartyp

We are sorry you’re having the same issue. Per the?forum guidelines, we ask that you please create separate topics for the issues you are experiencing.

That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance on your specific concerns on your specific site. Plus, you will get your own alerts for the issue rather than someone else’s. You may make a new topic here:?https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/#new-post.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.

What resolve? I was getting the same notification over and over (multiple times). Now I get a million redirects on Google Webmaster showing how every category is being redirected from let’s say category/bikes/ to /bikes/ without the prefix “category” which I removed with Yoast when I created the website.

Your plugin changed my Permalinks structure and now I am on the last page of Google. Yoast should be sued.
