    Hello Jeff,

First of all thank you for your work in keeping web security to a higher standard, this plugin and the others you have.

However, I’ve been playing for sometime with Blackhole for Bad Bots in the sites I manage for one of my clients and it blocks AIOSEO plugin’s access to REST API resources. I don’t know why. It is the most visited website from all my client’s websites. I have AIOSEO installed in all websites, but only this one is blocked.

Will you have time to explain to me why could this happen? Can I do something to whitelist these requests? At this moment I have disabled it to allow AIOSEO to work, but I would prefer to re-enabled it back.

    Thanks,

    Ciprian

    Hi Ciprian,

Glad to help. Can you let me know the basic steps to repeat the issue, starting with default WP install? That will enable me to follow along and try to resolve any issue asap, thank you.

    Hi Jeff,

Thank you for making time for my issue.

Firstly, some more generic information. All my client’s websites (20+) are located in Azure and have Nginx as web server with caching module enabled. All these websites have almost the same plugins and use Avada theme. I cannot give here, publicly, the URLs because of my contract. However, only one website, the most visited one, has this issue or incompatibility, don’t know how to better name it. This is the strangest thing. Although, in private, I could give you access to the staging environment, which behaves the same.

The issue didn’t appear from the beginning. The website has at least one year since has been completely changed, and we made a couple of times update to WP core, theme and plugins ever since. So, I can’t give you the exact steps to reproduce because I don’t remember the exact moment it appeared. The plugins I use: AIOSEO with couple of addons, ACF Pro, Complianz, Custom Post Type UI, Disable Guttemberg, BBQ Firewall, Everest Timeline, FileBird, Font Awesome, Interactive GEO Maps, Post Types Order, Themehigh Job Manager, Two Factor, User Role Editor, Visual Term Description Editor, WP Mail SMTP.

That’s all great information, thank you. In order for me to do anything like investigate, I just need the basic steps to replicate the issue on default WP, something like this for example:

    1. Install WP
    2. Install plugin
    3. Visit such and such page
    4. Perform some action
    5. Etc., until the issue happens

That info will enable me to examine and try to resolve any issue asap. Without the steps, there is not much I can do. Let me know how I can help, thank you.

I will try to replicate the steps on Monday on a brand new install, note all the steps and let you know after.

    Thank you,

Hey @pictoru, I hope you got this sorted. Haven’t heard back in awhile, so gonna go ahead and mark this ticket as “resolved” to help keep things organized. Feel free to post again with any further questions or feedback. Thank you.
