Seemed fantastic

  • It is a great plugin! I wasn’t happy with my old security plugin and then I’v tried this one. I was able to replace two other plugins (including akismet) with this one. I have reported an issue and the developer fixed it in less than 24 hours. Awesome – highly recommended!

    [Update] Actually I have changed my mind. This plugin looked great, but eventually it slowed down my site a lot. Replacing its functionality with several dedicated plugins and/or own code helped a lot – now it is fast again,
    After uninstalling this plugin left lots of rubbish in my database.

    I didn’t actually notice you had downgraded your review, as I wasn’t notified.

    Regarding the rubbish that the plugin leaves behind, we are quite diligent with that as we have noticed many other plugins make zero attempts to clean-up after themselves. There is an option in the plugin to “delete on deactivation” and this will clean up all data from the plugin, including options+databases, as you deactivate the plugin. This option is obviously not enabled by default but it’s in there.

    If the plugin was causing the site to run slowly, it may have been just something going wrong – I would have liked the opportunity to dig into the problem, but no matter, you have to choose the plugins that work best for you.

    Thanks for trying the plugin anyway, and if you can see your way to perhaps lifting the 1 star rating even a little, that’d be hugely appreciated.
