    I have been using WP for 15 years and so have had to deal with non-FSE themes for a long time.

    Recently I have been evaluating FSE themes.

    I think Twenty-Twenty-Four out of the box is fantastic:

    • Looks great
    • Default fonts look fine
    • Much easier to style and modify compared to a non-FSE theme
    • Has features that would be a premium on other themes
    • All templates designed really well
    • Looks great on mobile devices
    • Etc

    I did a test on GTMetrix – this is with NO CDN and NO caching enabled and no effort made to fix any initial issues, ie this is out of the box, on cheap shared hosting:

    Grade: A
    Performance 100%
    Structure 99%
    Web Vitals:
    LCP 487ms
    TBT 0ms
    CLS 0.01
    Top issues: NO major ones, only 5 Low impact ones

    I think this performance is very impressive!

    The theme’s description says:

A multitude of possibilities open up with just a few adjustments to color and typography.
