• I don’t want my parent page to link to any page so I need to change slug name to # but every time I change as soon as I click update it come back to the last slug name. It can change to any name like number or any other word but just not #.
This is how I change it.
    1. click Pages > All pages
    2. click Edit(below the page I want to change)
    3. change URL SLUG to #
    4. click update
And sadly the name of “URL SLUG” come back to the name before.

I try on “setting” and “Permalink Settings” I choose different option like “Post name”, “Custom Structure” but it still not work.

    Thank you in advance.

  • I suspect your goal is different. You have pages that are structured among themselves and thus create a hierarchy. From these pages you do not want to make the page above them accessible – neither by link nor as a page. Or? If it is, you would have to prevent the linking of the parent pages. You don’t achieve this by adjusting their URL but by removing the links in the template.

Or do you only want to make certain pages in the menu above not accessible? If this is the case, I am confused why the page “Peronal Growth” exists twice: once with /topic/ and once without /topic/ in the URL.

Yes, there is a hierarchy and I don’t want the page above them accessible. Thank you for your suggestion and May I have the steps to remove the links in the template.

*I still in the process of organise all pages, sorry for the confusion and thank you for trying to understand me.

How to remove the links in the templates, should be able to tell you the support for your theme. Each theme handles this differently, which is why little can be said about this here in the general WordPress support. You are using the theme Astra, their support forum can be found here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/astra/

I will go to check it out and if I can’t find my answer I’ll create a new question in their support forum.

Thank you so much. You are the best. You know so well. I google search, wach YT and try all they suggest but none of them work. I come here and still couldn’t find my answer till I have to create the account to ask.
