• While it is good to know the manual copy/build process the ease and effectiveness of Duplicator makes it a must have for dev site duplicates. Everyone who manages a site should have a Development version. With XAMPP (Windows/server) I find I need to run the scan to check for any issues, then go back and select the Skip scan option before the build will process. (Clearing the browser cache has no effect) Apart from that minor issue it works like a charm.

  • Thanks for the five star @phile2

    In the next version 0.5.3 the scan option will be required. This allows for a quicker build process… If you want to try it out it may fix the issue your seeing…

    The very latest version (0.5.3) can be found by following these instructions:

    -> Browse to https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
    -> Look for the section “Other Versions”
    -> Click on “Development Version” and download the zip plugin file
    -> Uninstall your current version and install this one
    -> Note: This is a development line version so please test in your sandbox first to make sure you have no issues…

    Thanks

    Hi Cory

    I have tested the Dev 0.5.3 version and had the same issue. (Hyper-V running Win7pro SP1 – XAMPP v3.2.1, WordPress 3.9, IE 11.0.9600.17041)
    It hangs at the build stage after clicking the button (scan stage “all good”). Circular refresh in the tab, no build popup indicator, nothing in the duplicator tools log written. Had cleared local IE cache – same issue. Allowed it to run for 30 mins to test hang… no change.
    I suspected it was an IE issue so tested the same on chrome “34.0.1847.116 m” and it worked fine!
    Tested Duplicator 0.5.2 with the same Chrome browser different site, same versions and plugins in XAMPP and it worked no problems.
    Back to IE 11 same VM, different site (no. 3) in XAMPP Duplicator V 0.5.2 and tested again and this time it worked.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards, Phil.
