• I would do that myself in case I know, but I don’t.
I am running on my server version 1.2.1 and would like to upgrade to 1.5.
Is there any good person who would to that on my behalf?
Please, drop me a message and we can get into contact.
Please, if there’s someone willing ?

  • I cannot do it, but if it’s any help, I recently upgraded a WP ver 1.2 that was originally installed via fantastico to the new ver 1.5.

It’s extremely easy to do. There is clear instructions on what to do. In fact, if I remember correctly it did’nt amount to anything more than backing up a file or two, scratching the entire WP 1.2 install, and simply copying the new 1.5 files into the server.

    Everything ran ok.

So if you don’t get an offer of help, you may find it is simpler than you think.

Email the fantastico people and tell them they’re two versions behind, and are putting people at risk by installing a version with a known security vulnerability.

kuna… it’s fairly easy to do.. just follow the instructions about upgrading

This is exactly which DreamHost created their own one-click installer which downloads the latest.zip file, so you’re never behind.

Here are some detailed upgrade instructions which you might find useful:

    Okey, thanks for your replies.
I ‘ll try to do that myself. I was reading short instructions but I get confused over which WP files should I delete .
Do I delete these files via FTP or via File Manager in Cpanel ?
As far as I understood, I need to make backup file for my home directory ( done), backup my database ( done).
The trouble is, that in my folder where WP files are, there are some other directories, such as CGI-BIN, some Fantastico files etc.
Should I delete files one by one and then upload them one by one ?
Pretty obvious for some, but I am not so savy since I had web hosted blogs before and I want to upgrade my blogging over WP cause, as we all know, it’s just great blog engine.
